⭐ CARE & MAINTENANCE
Keeping your Ground Grazer clean, safe and performing at its best.
The Ground Grazer is designed for daily use in stables, paddocks and yards. With the right care, it will remain durable, safe and hygienic for your horse.
🧼 Cleaning Instructions
Routine Cleaning (Daily or Every Few Feeds)
-
Shake out any leftover hay.
-
Brush off loose dust, dirt or shavings.
-
Leave in the sun or a dry area to air out between feeds.
Deep Cleaning (Weekly or As Needed)
-
Hose down thoroughly, inside and out.
-
Use mild, horse-safe detergent if heavily soiled.
-
Rinse well to remove residue.
-
Hang or lay flat to dry — the materials dry quickly in sunlight.
Avoid:
-
Harsh chemicals
-
Bleach
-
Washing machines (heavy agitation may damage stitching)
💪 Durability & Longevity
The Ground Grazer is made from heavy-duty materials, reinforced seams and robust webbing designed to withstand daily use in busy stables.
To maximise lifespan:
-
Rotate between two Ground Grazers per horse (AM & PM feeding)
-
Avoid allowing horses to stand or paw excessively on the bag
-
Feed in a flat, open space where possible
-
Inspect stitching monthly for natural wear
-
Repair minor wear promptly to prevent larger damage
With correct use, your Ground Grazer will last a long time — even with performance horses or busy racing yards.
🐴 Safe Use Guidelines
Your horse’s safety is our priority. Please follow these recommendations:
For Shod & Barefoot Horses
The Ground Grazer sits flat to minimise hoof interference.
Always monitor initial use until you are confident your horse interacts safely.
For Destructive or Playful Horses
If your horse likes to drag or toss objects, place the Ground Grazer:
-
Against a wall
-
In a corner
-
Or on rubber matting for extra stability
In Group Paddocks
Horses often compete for feed.
Use multiple Ground Grazers to reduce conflict and spread feeding areas.
With Foals, Minis & Seniors
Safe for all ages, but supervise until you know their behaviour with the product.
🌬️ Respiratory & Health Benefits (Care-Related)
Clean feeding is essential for respiratory health. Routine maintenance helps:
-
Reduce dust exposure
-
Prevent inhalation of debris
-
Support airway drainage through natural posture
For respiratory horses, keep your Ground Grazer:
-
Free of old hay
-
Washed regularly
-
Dry before refilling
🧩 Troubleshooting & Tips
My horse is dragging the bag
This is normal for playful horses.
Try placing it near a wall or fence line for stability.
My horse is eating faster than expected
Adjust the type, cut or density of hay.
Coarser hay slows feeding naturally.
A corner of the grid is wearing
Reinforce early — small preventative repairs extend lifespan.
My horse is unsure at first
Introduce it beside their usual feeding area for 1–2 days.
Most horses adapt instantly once they smell the hay.
